We also sell coarse vermiculite, a hard to find, but key ingredient in the makeup of your Square Foot Garden soil. It takes about 3 cubic feet of vermiculite for our 4' x 4' planter when mixed with your compost and peat moss. Vermiculite will partner with your irrigation grid to keep the soil moist by absorbing and storing surrounding water to be used by the plant's root system as the soil dries out.
